Mines Gambling in May 2026

Mines is a grid game. 25 tiles. Some hide gems, some hide bombs. You pick how many bombs (1 to 24) before the round starts, then click tiles one at a time. Each gem you find pushes your multiplier higher. Hit a bomb and you lose your bet. Cash out after any gem and the multiplier locks in. That is the whole game.

We track 114 casinos in our database. 98 of them accept crypto and have instant games like Mines. The best house versions (Stake Mines, BC.Game Mines) run at 99% RTP with a 1% house edge. That is better than European roulette (2.7%), baccarat (1.06%), and nearly every slot. Third-party versions from Spribe and Turbo Games sit at 97%. SmartSoft is the worst at 96%.

38 of our 98 Mines casinos process crypto withdrawals in 30 minutes or less. Average payout across all casinos: 1147 minutes. Find a gem, cash out, and have the money in your wallet before you finish your coffee.

11 casinos in our database score 8/10 or higher on RTP transparency. House Mines games are cryptographically verifiable. Every round uses a pre-generated seed that sets mine positions before you click. After the round, you can check the math. The casino cannot move mines after you start clicking.

This page ranks every Mines casino by score, payout speed, game count, and safety. Every number comes from our database of 114 casinos with 145 data points each. No guesswork.

All Mines Versions Compared

6 versions with RTP, house edge, and provably fair status

House originals vs third-party games

There are two types of Mines games. House originals are built by the casino. Stake Mines and BC.Game Mines both have 99% RTP (1% house edge) and provably fair verification. They are exclusive to their platform.

Third-party games are made by independent providers and available at many casinos. Spribe Mines and Turbo Mines have 97% RTP (3% edge). SmartSoft Mines has 96% (4% edge). None of the third-party versions are provably fair in the cryptographic sense.

If a casino offers a house Mines game, play that. The 3% RTP difference between Stake (99%) and SmartSoft (96%) means you lose 4x more money per bet on SmartSoft.

House originals (Stake, BC.Game) have 99% RTP. Third-party games (Spribe, Turbo, SmartSoft) have 96-97%. At 99% RTP you lose $1 per $100 wagered. At 96% you lose $4. Over 500 rounds, that gap becomes real money.

BGaming leads the library, followed by Pragmatic Play, Evolution, Betsoft, and Endorphina. 36% tier-1 content is solid, 12% tier-4 is reasonable. Mobile coverage: 90%. The game selection overlaps heavily with BitStarz since both use the same aggregation feeds. Hacksaw and Nolimit City are absent, which matters if you are after high-volatility modern slots. Pick Mines if you want...

  • Control over pace. No timer. Think as long as you want before each click
  • A decision after every gem. Cash out or keep going. You choose every time
  • Adjustable risk within the same game. 1 mine = nearly safe. 24 mines = lottery
  • Provably fair verification on every round at house casinos

Skip Mines if you want...

  • Speed. Crash does 200+ rounds per hour. Mines is slower
  • Social play. Crash shows everyone else betting in real time
  • Massive multipliers. Crash can hit 1,000,000x. Mines tops out around 495x
  • Simplicity. Dice is one click. No grid, no decisions

How to Play Mines at Online Casinos

From signup to first bet in 5 steps

  1. Pick a Mines casino from our list

Start with one of the top-rated picks above. The top 5 by score are Stake, BitStarz, MafiaCasino, Fairspin, mBit Casino. All have Mines games, crypto deposits, and fast withdrawals.

98 casinos in our database qualify. Sort by score for overall quality, or by instant game count if you want the most Mines variants.
  2. Create an account and deposit crypto

Most Mines casinos only need an email. No ID check for small deposits. Fund with Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, or Litecoin. Deposits are instant at crypto casinos.

Start small. Deposit the minimum to test the casino before putting in real money. Check if the welcome bonus counts toward Mines games.
  3. Find Mines in the game lobby

Look under "Instant Games", "Originals", or "Casino Games." If the casino has a house Mines game, pick that (99% RTP). Otherwise, look for Spribe Mines (97%). Avoid SmartSoft at 96% if better options exist.

If you see both a house Mines and a Spribe version at the same casino, always pick the house version. The 2-3% RTP difference saves you real money over time.
  1. Set your bet, mine count, and start clicking

Pick your bet size (1-2% of your session bankroll). Choose mine count: start with 3 mines to learn. Click tiles to reveal gems. After each gem, decide: cash out at the current multiplier or click another tile for a higher one.

Set a gem target before the round starts. "I cash out after 3 gems." The 3-gem multiplier with 3 mines is 1.47x. Solid, repeatable win.
  2. Cash out your winnings

Go to the cashier and withdraw to your crypto wallet. The fastest casinos in our database process crypto withdrawals in under 10 minutes. Average across all 98 Mines casinos: 1147 minutes.

Do not let winnings sit in the casino balance. Withdraw to your own wallet after a winning session. The money is only yours when it is in your wallet.

That is all there is to it.

Mines is simple to understand. Click tiles, avoid bombs, cash out when you want. The game looks like Minesweeper but plays like a coin flip. No deduction, no clues, just probability and nerve.

Mines Probability Table

Survival probability by mine count and clicks

Every probability below is exact math, not a simulation. With 3 mines, first click: 22 safe tiles / 25 total = 88%. Second click: 21/24 = 87.5%. Third: 20/23 = 87%. Cumulative: 88% x 87.5% x 87% = 67%. The house edge (1-4% depending on provider) is built into the multiplier payout, not the mine placement.

The Math Behind Mines

What each Mines version actually costs per hour

The house edge is a fixed number. No strategy, no pattern, no tile-picking trick changes it. Mines is slower than crash (you make decisions between clicks), so we assume 60 rounds per hour for manual play. Here is what it costs at $5 per bet.

Stake/BC.Game Mines

House edge: 1.00%

Bet per round$5
Rounds per hour60
Total wagered/hour$300
Expected loss/hour-$3.00
Annual cost (10 hrs/wk)-$1,560

Best Mines math. $3/hour is pocket change. Provably fair.

Roobet Mines

House edge: 3.00%

Bet per round$5
Rounds per hour60
Total wagered/hour$300
Expected loss/hour-$9.00
Annual cost (10 hrs/wk)-$4,680

Provably fair but 3x the cost of Stake. $9/hour adds up fast.

Spribe / Turbo Mines

House edge: 3.00%

Bet per round$5
Rounds per hour60
Total wagered/hour$300
Expected loss/hour-$9.00
Annual cost (10 hrs/wk)-$4,680

Same cost as Roobet. Not provably fair. Most widely available version.

SmartSoft Mines

House edge: 4.00%

Bet per round$5
Rounds per hour60
Total wagered/hour$300
Expected loss/hour-$12.00
Annual cost (10 hrs/wk)-$6,240

Worst Mines game. 4x the cost of Stake. Play something else if you can.

Based on $5 flat bets, 60 rounds/hour (manual play with decision time). Annual assumes 10 hours/week, 52 weeks.

Mines Bankroll Planner

How much to bring for a Mines session

Mines variance depends on your mine count. With 3 mines, the swings are mild. With 10 mines, 85% of rounds end in a loss. You need enough bankroll to survive a bad streak and still have fun.

Bring 50-100x your bet size for a 1-hour session. At $5 per bet with 3 mines, bring $250-500. With 10 mines, lean toward the 100x end because losing streaks come faster.

Bet SizeExpected Loss/Hr (1%)Bring This (1 hr)
$1$0.60$50-100
$2$1.20$100-200
$5$3.00$250-500
$10$6.00$500-1,000
$25$15.00$1,250-2,500
$50$30.00$2,500-5,000

The 50x rule for Mines

Multiply your bet by 50. That is your minimum session bankroll. At $5/bet, bring $250. Over 60 rounds of manual play at 1% house edge, you lose $3 on average. But variance with 5 mines means you could be down $75 at some point before recovering. The cushion keeps you playing through cold streaks.

Stop-loss rules for Mines

Set a stop-loss at 50% of your session bankroll. Brought $250? Stop at $125 remaining. For a win goal, 25-50% is solid. Up $60-125? Good session. Withdraw. The house edge grinds against you every round. Shorter sessions are cheaper than long ones.

All figures assume 60 rounds/hour (manual play). Annual assumes 10 hours/week, 52 weeks.

Mines Strategies

What works, what does not, and why

No strategy changes the house edge. At 1% edge, you lose $1 per $100 wagered no matter what. But different mine counts and cashout targets change the variance and the experience. Here are the three main approaches.

Conservative (1-3 mines, 3 gems)

Win rate~67% (3 mines)
Avg profit per win+$2.35 per win
Loss per round-$5 per loss
Expected loss/hour-$3/hr at 1% edge

3 mines, cash out after 3 gems (1.47x). You win about 2 out of 3 rounds. Small, steady profits. Losing streaks of 3-4 rounds happen regularly but recover fast. Best for players who want long sessions.

Low variance. Boring but sustainable.

Moderate (5 mines, 3 gems)

Win rate~47% (5 mines)
Avg profit per win+$5.70 per win
Loss per round-$5 per loss
Expected loss/hour-$3/hr at 1% edge

5 mines, cash out after 3 gems (2.14x). You win roughly every other round. Bigger wins, bigger gaps. Losing streaks of 4-6 are common. Balance swings more, but the 2x multiplier feels rewarding.

Medium variance. Good middle ground.

Aggressive (10 mines, 2 gems)

Win rate~24% (10 mines, 2 gems)
Avg profit per win+$14 per win
Loss per round-$5 per loss
Expected loss/hour-$3/hr at 1% edge

10 mines, cash out after 2 gems. You lose 3 out of 4 rounds. When you win, it is 3.8x your bet. Losing streaks of 8-10 are not unusual. Balance drops fast, spikes rarely. Most players bust their session bankroll before the big streak.

High variance. Exciting but short sessions.

The honest truth about Mines strategies

All three strategies lose $3/hour at $5 bets with a 1% house edge. The expected cost is identical. The only difference is how the losses are distributed. Conservative gives you a slow, steady drain. Aggressive gives you fast drops and occasional spikes. Moderate splits the difference. Pick based on what feels good, not on which one "works better." The math is the same.

5 Common Mines Gambling Mistakes

What to avoid and what to do instead

1

Playing SmartSoft Mines when house originals are available

Why it costs you money: SmartSoft Mines has a 4% house edge. Stake and BC.Game Mines have 1%. That means at SmartSoft you lose $4 per $100 wagered vs $1 at Stake. Over 500 rounds at $5 each, you lose $100 at SmartSoft but only $25 at Stake. Same game, 4x the cost.

Do this instead: Check which Mines version your casino runs before you play. If the casino has house originals (Stake, BC.Game), pick those. If not, Spribe or Turbo at 97% is the next best option. Avoid SmartSoft at 96%.

2

Clicking "one more tile" after a good run

Why it costs you money: With 5 mines, your 3rd click has a 43% chance of hitting a mine. Your 4th: 48%. Your 5th: 53%. Every click after the first gets worse. The multiplier going up feels rewarding, but the math is moving against you with each tile. The gem you just found does not make the next click safer.

Do this instead: Set a gem target before the round starts. "I will cash out after 3 gems." Stick to it. The multiplier after 3 gems with 5 mines is 2.14x. That is a solid win. Take it.

3

Using 10+ mines to chase big multipliers

Why it costs you money: With 10 mines, your first click has a 40% chance of hitting a mine. By the third click, you have a 15.4% survival rate. That means 85 out of 100 rounds, you lose on or before click 3. The 7.96x payout when you do survive does not cover the losses from the other 85 rounds.

Do this instead: For sustainable play, use 3-5 mines. The multipliers are smaller but the survival rates are high enough that you actually collect payouts. Use 10+ mines only with money you are fine losing in the next 5 minutes.

4

Not understanding how probability compounds

Why it costs you money: With 3 mines, your first click is 88% safe. Most players stop thinking there. But the second click is 87.5%, the third 87%, the fourth 86.4%, the fifth 85.7%. Multiply them: 88% x 87.5% x 87% x 86.4% x 85.7% = 49.3%. You went from "almost guaranteed" to "coin flip" in 5 clicks.

Do this instead: Check the probability table on this page before you play. Know the survival odds for your mine count and target number of gems. If the cumulative probability is below 50%, you will lose more rounds than you win.

5

Ignoring which Mines version the casino runs

Why it costs you money: The difference between 99% RTP (Stake) and 96% RTP (SmartSoft) is 3 percentage points. That sounds small. But it means your losses per dollar are 4x higher at SmartSoft. Over a month of casual play (100 rounds/day at $5), that is $15/month vs $60/month. The version matters.

Do this instead: Before your first bet, check the game provider. It is usually shown in the game info or loading screen. House originals > Spribe/Turbo (97%) > SmartSoft (96%).

How We Rank Mines Casinos

Our scoring methodology, explained

Every casino in our database is scored across 7 weighted categories. The overall score (out of 10) determines rankings. Here is what we measure and how it applies to Mines casino rankings.

Payout Integrity

Does the casino pay winnings without delays, arbitrary limits, or bad faith deductions? Tested with real withdrawals.

Mines payouts are instant in-game. The real test is whether withdrawals process cleanly.

Withdrawal Speed

How fast does money hit your wallet after you request a withdrawal? We test with crypto, e-wallet, and bank transfers.

Mines players want fast cashouts. Average across our Mines casinos: 1147 minutes for crypto.

Trust & Safety

Casino Guru safety index, Trustpilot score, complaint resolution rate, and years of operation.

Mines is offshore-only. Trust matters more here than for regulated games.

Game Quality

Provider diversity, RTP data availability, number of games, and library depth.

We check for house Mines games, third-party options, and whether RTP is published and transparent.

Mobile Experience

Lighthouse performance, load times, touch targets, and native app availability.

Mines is a tap game. Mobile should be seamless. We test on 4 devices.

Bonus Value

Expected value of welcome bonus accounting for wagering, game contribution, time limits, and win caps.

Most bonuses count Mines at 100%. We flag casinos where they do not.

Mines Gambling

Pros

Benefits

  • House Mines games (Stake, BC.Game) have 99% RTP with a 1% house edge. That is cheaper than European roulette (2.7%), baccarat (1.06%), and virtually every slot machine.
  • You control the risk within each round. 1 mine = nearly safe. 24 mines = pure lottery. The same game serves cautious grinders and high-risk players. No other game gives you this much variance control.
  • Cash out at any time. After each gem, you decide: take the money or keep going. Unlike crash (where the game decides when it ends), every reveal is your conscious choice.
  • Provably fair at house casinos. 11 casinos in our database score 8+/10 on RTP transparency. Mine positions are cryptographically locked before you click. The casino cannot move them after the round starts.
  • 98 crypto casinos have Mines. 38 process crypto withdrawals in 30 minutes or less. Average payout: 1147 min. Win, cash out, and get your money fast.
  • No time pressure. Unlike crash (5-second rounds), Mines lets you think. Take 5 seconds or 5 minutes per click. Play at your own pace without missing a round.

Cons

Things to consider

  • No skill element. Mine placement is random. No amount of analysis improves your odds. The game looks like Minesweeper but plays like a coin flip. Every tile has the same probability.
  • SmartSoft version has a 4% house edge. If your casino runs SmartSoft Mines, you lose 4x more per dollar than at Stake. Always check which provider version you are playing.
  • Easy to overtrade. Each click feels safe until it is not. With 5 mines, the 3rd click has a 43% bust chance. The psychological pull to "just one more tile" is the game's real danger.
  • Lower max multipliers than crash. Mines tops out around 495x (20 mines, 3 gems). Crash can hit 1,000,000x. If you want lottery-sized payouts, Mines is not the game.
  • Auto-play burns through bankroll. 10 rounds per minute at $5 each = $50/min. With 5 mines targeting 5 gems, 75% of those rounds bust. Manual play with disciplined cashouts is safer.
  • Offshore only. No US-licensed casino offers Mines. You are playing at offshore operators without US regulatory protection.
Play Safe

Mines Game Warning

Mines is psychologically compelling because each click feels like a small, safe decision. It is not. The cumulative probability drops fast. With 5 mines, you have a 25% chance of reaching 5 gems. Three out of four times, you lose everything. Set a hard loss limit before you start. If you cannot stop, contact 1-800-GAMBLER.

Mines Game: FAQ

15 questions about Mines gambling, odds, strategies, and provably fair

How does Mines work?

A 5x5 grid (25 tiles) hides gems and mines. You choose how many mines (1-24) before the round. Click tiles to reveal them. Gems increase your multiplier. Mines end the round and you lose your bet. You can cash out after any gem reveal. More mines = higher multipliers but higher chance of hitting one.

What is the RTP of Mines?

Stake and BC.Game: 99% (1% house edge). Roobet, Spribe, Turbo: 97% (3% edge). SmartSoft: 96% (4% edge). The 2% difference between Stake (99%) and Roobet (97%) means you lose 3x more per dollar wagered at Roobet. Always check which version your casino runs.

Is Mines provably fair?

House originals (Stake, BC.Game, Roobet) are provably fair. Mine positions are set before the round using cryptographic seeds. After the round, you can verify that mines were not moved. Third-party versions (Spribe, SmartSoft) use certified RNG but cannot be independently verified per-round.

How many mines should I use?

For steady play: 1-3 mines. You survive most clicks and build small multipliers over many rounds. For excitement: 5-7 mines. Decent multipliers with reasonable survival odds. For gambling: 10+ mines. Most rounds end on the first or second click. Choose based on how long you want your bankroll to last.

What are the odds of the first click?

With 1 mine: 24/25 = 96% safe. With 3 mines: 22/25 = 88%. With 5: 20/25 = 80%. With 10: 15/25 = 60%. With 20: 5/25 = 20%. With 24: 1/25 = 4%. Each subsequent click has slightly worse odds because gems are removed from the pool but mines are not.

Can I predict where mines are?

No. Mine placement is random (provably fair at house casinos). There is no pattern. Previous round results have zero effect on the next round. Any "strategy" claiming to predict mine locations is a scam. The grid resets every round with fresh random placement.

What is the maximum win?

Theoretically, revealing all 24 gems with 24 mines (1 safe tile) pays 24.75x at Stake. But revealing all gems with 1 mine pays about 1.01x per click, stacking to 1.24x for all 24. The highest practical multipliers come from 10-20 mines with 3-5 successful reveals: 8x to 500x.

Should I use auto-play?

Auto-play reveals tiles automatically in a set pattern. It removes emotional decision-making (good) but also removes the cashout decision (dangerous). If you auto-play with 5 mines targeting 5 gems, you will bust 50-75% of rounds. Use auto-play only with low mine counts or set a strict loss limit.

How is Mines different from Minesweeper?

In Minesweeper, number clues help you deduce mine locations. In casino Mines, there are no clues. Every unrevealed tile has the same probability of being a mine. It is pure chance, not deduction. The visual similarity to Minesweeper is cosmetic, not mechanical.

Which casino has the best Mines?

Stake (99% RTP, provably fair, clean interface) and BC.Game (99%, provably fair, 150+ tokens) are tied for best. If you cannot access either, look for casinos running Spribe Mines at 97%. Avoid SmartSoft at 96% if alternatives exist.

Is Mines gambling legal in the US?

No US state-licensed online casino offers Mines. The six states with legal iGaming (NJ, PA, MI, WV, CT, DE) have not approved Mines game formats. All Mines casinos accepting US players operate offshore under Curacao, Costa Rica, or Anjouan licenses. There is no federal law specifically banning online Mines gambling, but state laws vary.

Are Mines gambling winnings taxable?

Yes. The IRS considers all gambling winnings taxable income, including Mines games at offshore casinos. You are required to report net gambling income on your federal tax return. Offshore casinos do not issue W-2G forms, but the tax obligation still applies. Keep records of deposits, withdrawals, and session results.

What is the house edge of Mines?

The house edge is the percentage of each bet the casino keeps on average. At Stake and BC.Game Mines, it is 1%. At Spribe and Turbo Mines, 3%. At SmartSoft Mines, 4%. The edge is built into the multiplier payouts, not the mine placement. Mines are always placed randomly.

How much should I bet per round on Mines?

A common rule is 1-2% of your session bankroll per bet. If you brought $200 for a session, bet $2-4 per round. At 60 rounds per hour (manual play) and $3 per bet with a 1% house edge, you lose $1.80 per hour in expected value. The variance is high with more mines.

Mines vs crash games: which is better?

Mines lets you control the pace. You can think before each click. No timer, no auto-crash. Crash games are faster (5-second rounds) and multiplayer. Both have 99% RTP at house versions. Pick Mines if you want decision-making. Pick crash if you want speed and social play. The house edge is the same at both.
