Evolution Gaming launched the only major live craps product in 2020. Streamed from Evolution's New Jersey studio with multi-camera coverage of the dice and transparent acrylic shooter table. Most live-dealer casinos that license Evolution's table catalogue carry it. operators with smaller live floors may not have integrated it. Don't Pass at 1.36% house edge, narrowly beating Pass Line at 1.41%. Adding Free Odds (0% edge) on top of Pass / Don't Pass / Come / Don't Come reduces the combined house edge significantly. with 5x odds maxed, Pass Line + Odds blends to roughly 0.33% combined edge. Always max Free Odds; that is where the mathematical advantage lives.

Free Odds is a backing bet placed behind a Pass / Don't Pass / Come / Don't Come bet after a point is established. It pays true mathematical odds (no house edge). e.g., 6 or 8 pays 6:5 instead of even money, 5 or 9 pays 3:2, 4 or 10 pays 2:1. Casinos cap Free Odds at multiples of the underlying bet (typically 3x-5x). The reason it exists at 0% edge: it functions as the casino's incentive to place the underlying Pass Line bet (which carries the 1.41% edge).

Live craps uses real dice, a real shooter, and multi-camera streaming. The come-out roll happens in real time on camera. RNG craps uses random number generation per roll. Same odds and rules either way, but live craps is paced slower (30-90 second rounds) and feels more authentic. Live also has fewer table availability hours since it requires physical studio operation.

The first roll of a betting cycle. If 7 or 11 rolls, Pass Line wins immediately. If 2, 3, or 12 rolls, Pass Line loses ("craps"). Any other number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) becomes the "point" and the round continues until either the point rolls again (Pass wins) or 7 rolls (Pass loses). Don't Pass works in reverse with one exception: come-out 12 is a push, not a Don't Pass win.

Only as entertainment. Hard 4 (two 2s) and Hard 10 (two 5s) carry 11.11% house edge. Hard 6 and Hard 8 carry 9.09%. These bets pay big when they hit (7:1 or 9:1) but the math is bad. Sticking to Pass Line + max Free Odds keeps the combined edge under 0.5%. Hard Ways add 8-10x more edge per bet.

Standard tables: $1-5 minimum at most major operators. The bet structure means actual exposure per round is higher than the minimum (typical play uses Pass Line + Place 6 + Place 8 + Field simultaneously, so a $5-minimum table commits ~$15-20 per come-out cycle). VIP tables: $25-100 minimum per bet. Free Odds maximum is typically capped at 3x-5x the underlying bet at most casinos.

The come-out roll itself takes about 30 seconds. If a point is established, the round continues until either the point or a 7 rolls, which can take anywhere from a few rolls (~1 minute) to 20+ rolls (~10 minutes for a long shooter run). Live craps rounds tend to be longer than blackjack or baccarat because the betting cycle continues across multiple rolls per come-out.

Yes. Lay bets bet against a specific number (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) before 7. They are essentially the inverse of Place bets. Lay 4 or 10: 2.44% edge. Lay 5 or 9: 3.23% edge. Lay 6 or 8: 4% edge. Lay bets carry a 5% commission on the win amount. Available at all major Evolution Live Craps tables.
